IRS Priority Guidance Plan Update

On Feb. 7, 2018, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released the second quarter update to the "2017-2018 Priority Guidance Plan. The 2017-2018 plan covers the 12-month period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

The initial plan was introduced on Oct. 20, 2017; updates were necessary as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (the Act) (P.L. 115-97). This release includes the addition of 29 projects to the plan, many of which are directly related to the Act.

While this plan is not a guarantee of items to be completed by the Department of Treasury and the IRS by June 30, 2018, it gives taxpayers insight into what topics they plan to address in the near future.
