Gary has been a partner with DHG since 1998 and has more than 25 years of experience. He leads the firm’s retirement plan third-party administration practice that includes compliance services, serving more than 1,200 plans. He is also a firm-wide resource for employee benefit plan audits.
In Gary’s role as Partner-in-Charge of Retirement Plan Services, he has the technical knowledge and in-depth understanding of plan document compliance, the laws and regulations under ERISA, the IRS and the Department of Labor (DOL). His extensive experience enables him to provide real world and practical suggestions for improvement of the internal controls of a plan and identification of areas for consideration for compliance related issues.
Gary is also a member of DHG's employee benefit plan audit leadership team. As a member of this team, he assists in the development of the firm-wide audit approach and can provide guidance on best practices for various employee benefit plan audits. He also has a working relationship with personnel from the Department of Labor that promotes open communication to enhance the firm’s audit approach as it relates to this specialized area of practice.
Gary is a regular attendee of the AICPA’s national employee benefit plans conference and various other webinars to ensure he is knowledgeable on new developments in the retirement plan area.
