Overview

Dave is a partner of the firm and serves in the firm’s professional standards group as the Director of Assurance Services and SEC Practice.

With more than 30 years of professional experience, Dave has extensive experience in SEC registration and reporting matters, mergers and acquisitions transactions, and the financial institution, real estate and transportation industries.

Dave is located in the Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters of the firm’s professional standards group and is responsible for oversight of quality control and the technical aspects of the assurance services practice, including developing and implementing policies and procedures for the conduct and monitoring of the assurance services practice, evaluating and implementing electronic process systems, assessing the impact of developments in the profession, and implementing programs and processes responsive to changes in the assurance services environment. Dave also provides technical support to the firm's assurance services professionals.

As Director of SEC Practice, Dave is responsible for ensuring compliance with emerging guidance applicable to Dixon Hughes Goodman’s public company clients. Dave also serves as a technical resource for the firm regarding SEC, PCAOB and other public company matters.

Dave is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Center for Audit Quality, with current or recent past service on various committees and task forces, including the Depository Institutions Expert Panel, the SEC Regulations Committee, the Financial Reporting Executive Committee, the Center for Audit Quality's Professional Practice Executive Committee and the CAQ’s Smaller Firms Task Force.
