John is a director in tax consulting services, focusing on research & development (R&D) tax consulting. He began his career as a design engineer, software developer and system integrator before transitioning into a consulting practice in technology, tax and management services.

Prior to joining DHG, John spent 16 years with a Big Four firm; John built and led the R&D Tax Credit, Orphan Drug Credit (ODC) and Employee Retention Credit (ERC) practices for the Greater Washington Area; he has significant experience working with a range of clients from Fortune 500 companies to startups. John has served clients in the software, satellite communications, internet registry operations, manufacturing and biotech industries.

John leads a dedicated team of R&D tax credit professionals for DHG, bringing to the table multidisciplinary experience in engineering, tax and management to:

  • Maximize clients' R&D credit – being an engineer, John helps businesses find engineering positions to maximize the R&D credit.
  • Minimize client effort – with a tailored approach, John can help minimize workload. 
  • Sustain the clients' R&D credit – John has experience defending clients in audits to sustain the R&D credit.
