Tim Smith serves as a valuation principal in DHG’s Atlanta office. His professional background spans over two decades to include executive level leadership positions both in the U.S. and in Europe. Prior to joining DHG, Tim served as founder and managing partner of QueensGate Corporate Finance.
Tim has assisted companies with valuation, credit, capital structure, mergers and acquisitions and transactional opinions. His experience includes extensive cross-border transactions dealing with complex corporate structures, structured credit, foreign currency, multi-jurisdiction insolvency, distressed debt and financial reporting.
Tim has personally appeared on CNBC and has spoken at a number of industry events in both the U.S. and the U.K., including in the Turnaround Management Association, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), Financial Executives International (FEI) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Additionally, Tim has published articles with Strategic Finance and Financier Worldwide.
Prior to founding QueensGate, Tim was a Principal with a Big Four firm and a Senior Managing Director with the firm’s investment banking team, where he was the lead partner for the firm’s U.S. fairness opinion practice. Prior to his Big Four experience, Tim was a director with Houlihan Lokey where he was one of two founding partners for the U.K. and European valuation advisory division. During that time, he lived and worked overseas, serving a client base of companies, hedge funds and banks and was heavily involved in assisting clients with complications resulting from the 2007 – 2008 financial crises. Prior to his investment banking career, Tim was a corporate banking officer with a regional commercial bank.
