Sarah Saunders is an experienced assurance professional currently serving as a partner in DHG Financial Services. Since 2004, she has worked with financial services clients in public accounting to meet their assurance and advisory needs. Prior to joining DHG, Sarah worked in the audit practice of a national public accounting firm and in the accounting division of a large mortgage company.
At DHG, she serves clients ranging from community to multi-billion-dollar regional banks and financial services companies which include both private and publicly traded entities. She is experienced in financial statement audits, SEC and FDICIA accounting and reporting and integrated SOX and FDICIA audits. Sarah has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions, helping clients navigate critical and complex business decisions from a financial perspective.
In addition to external audit services, Sarah is experienced in internal audit and risk advisory services, including assisting companies with SOX implementation, performing process area reviews, identifying control gaps and recommending improvements. Sarah currently serves on the Firm’s CECL Product Development and Delivery Committee. She is a frequent speaker at internal and external CECL events as well as at other accounting events for industry leaders. Additionally, she leads the firm’s Atlanta Assurance Practice and is the regional champion of DHG’s Women Forward group in Georgia, which helps recruit, develop and retain best-in-class women and supports these professionals through learning and leadership.
