Louis is a partner in the CFO & Business Advisory practice, where he leads the Firm’s Accounting & Financial Reporting service line. Louis has more than 30 years of experience, including more than 20 years in public accounting and 10 years as an executive with public companies. He provides services to large public entities as well as smaller and start-up companies positioned for growth.
Louis works with clients on many matters on the CFO/CAO agenda. He often provides technical accounting advisory support, particularly related to the implementation of new accounting standards, US GAAP/IFRS conversion projects, initial public offerings (IPOs) through both traditional vehicles and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), carve-out financial statements, business combinations, and other capital market transactions. Louis has also led projects for due diligence and transaction advisory, finance transformation, and capital management strategy services.
Prior to joining DHG, Louis was a partner in the Accounting Advisory practice of a Big 4 firm, where he specialized in assisting companies with IPOs, the preparation of carve-out financial statements, merger and acquisition transactions, and the implementation of new accounting standards. Louis lived and worked in Luxembourg and Amsterdam for eight years, where he was a Firm designated SEC/US GAAP expert. He led many IPO projects for technology, media and financial services companies, which often also included an accounting basis conversion. Louis was also the Chief Accounting Officer of a multinational, publicly listed company based in Switzerland, and the CFO of two domestic public companies. In his CAO role, Louis led the implementation of IFRS on a global scale, adopted a global tax optimization strategy, and transformed finance department process to enhance control effectiveness, improve process efficiency and reduce costs.
