Rick is a Tax Partner in the firm’s Raleigh office. He has spent his career in public accounting serving both foreign and domestic closely held companies in a variety of industries including construction and real estate, technology, manufacturing and distribution. In addition, Rick serves many individual business owners by assisting with personal financial and income tax planning business formations and reorganizations, business succession planning, estate and gift planning, and charitable giving matters. Rick assists clients in such areas as international and domestic tax compliance and consulting, ASC 740 tax provision services and FIN48 documentation and analysis, research and development tax credits/expenses, tax accounting methods, business entity structuring and planning, and tax controversy, including audit support and state voluntary disclosure. During his career, Rick has helped many businesses navigate the complex tax and accounting issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations and restructuring.
