Prior to her retirement, Greta was with DHG in the Metro DC market for 32 years! She now lives in Vienna, VA where she enjoys volunteering with the Fairfax County Parenting Education Program, co-leading Mission Teams through Honduras Outreach, Inc., serving as the Clerk of Session at Grace Presbyterian Church and assisting other organizations focused on mission and outreach. Greta also tutors children in math and reading at her granddaughter’s elementary school. She joined a book club, re-joined the Northern Virginia Chapter of the VA Society of CPA’s and has taken a page from DHG’s Energy for Life program by starting a regular exercise routine. Additionally, Greta loves spending precious time with her family and friends and traveling to new and interesting places.
Greta says the greatest blessing of retirement has been the gift of flexibility. She says she can make “spur of the moment” choices when new opportunities arise. On the first anniversary of her retirement, Greta laughed when she realized all the things that were on her original retirement “to do” list that never quite rose to the top, simply because of the many new and wonderful opportunities that she never anticipated. (Cleaning closets and organizing photo albums are still at the rock bottom of that “to do” list and may never rise to the top!)
