Celebrating Women's History Month: Who Inspires You?

Throughout the month of March we have been celebrating inspirational women at DHG and beyond. As part of the celebration, we asked our people to share stories about those who inspire them- those who have been instrumental in their career path, those they consider to be role models or those who encourage them to be their best self. Thank you to all those who participated! We have compiled excerpts from the submissions to highlight these powerful women, we hope you enjoy these inspiring stories.

Christina Howard“Christina Howard has always shown a genuine interest in my thoughts and ideas around recruiting and provided sound advice and guidance. Even with her busy schedule she finds time to reach across regions to inspire our recruits to challenge themselves to be great. Christina embodies the culture of DHG.” – Stacey Ford, former Campus Diversity Recruiter

“My very first mentor was a woman, I worked for her shortly after beginning my career… Her feedback was often tough, but needed, and her delivery was smooth and made me want to embrace her suggestions so I could improve my skills. She gave me great career advice, the results of which I can still see the benefits today.” – Matt Snow, CEO

She (Dr. Nika White, VP of Diversity and Inclusion for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce) also elevates those around her and challenges everyone to be their best. She is intentional and aligns everything that she does to her personal strategic vision and mission in life incorporating her faith, family, career, and community.” – Nicole Andrews,  former HR Programs Manager Mary Becknell

“Mary Becknell in Charlotte continually inspires me to be great everyday for DHG. If she ever has a bad day she never shows it. She's the epitome of providing great client service, caring for others, and always being upbeat and positive.” – Kent Satterfield, former Chairman

“Mary Frazier is a true role model to me and others showing that hard work, an amazing support system at home and having lots of great mentors along the way can make career goals a reality!” – Cathy Sealey, Administrative Assistant

“Throughout my career, I’ve looked to Gayle (friend and mentor) for insight and she’s given me great advice. She’s told me to work hard, be intentional and know that I can be successful. I’m inspired by Gayle’s work ethic, attitude and drive and am thankful for her friendship and support.” – Aprille Bell, Partner Catherine Morris photo

“Working alongside Catherine Morris inspires me to be my best and I always feel her full support no matter how big or small the project. Thank you Catherine for being a positive light in my career and an inspiration to many here at DHG!” – Alice Grey Harrison, Senior Manager

Crista DeStefano, currently a managing director at a top asset managing firm was an early inspiration to me from a career perspective. She was the definition for me of “having it all.” Internally, I have found the same thing in both Heather Spillman and Courtney Young. Both have been motivations for me to continue to strive for success no matter where you are in your career. I’m just hoping I can pay it forward and be that inspiration for someone else.” – Andrea Rice, Senior Consultant

“For almost 5 years, Alice Grey Harrison has been an inspiration to me as I work on public relations and internal communications efforts for the firm… She is very professional and represents DHG in a way that makes us all proud to work here… Thank you for all you do to help me progress, Alice Grey and all you do for DHG each day!” – Anne Creasy, Manager
