DHG Supports the Fight to End Alzheimer’s and Dementia by Donating More Than $48,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association

DHG Team Members Volunteer More than 500 Hours in Walk to End Alzheimer's

Charlotte, N.C, December 2, 2019 – Dixon Hughes Goodman, a U.S. top 20 public accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce that the firm donated $48,811 and volunteered more than 500 hours to the Alzheimer's Association and the Walk to End Alzheimer's in its 12-month Charity of Choice corporate social responsibility campaign. DHG team members across the firm collectively voted to donate time and dollars to the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the 2019 calendar year. The funds collected will go towards Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

“We are grateful to the employees of DHG for selecting the Alzheimer’s Association as their charity,” said Katherine L. Lambert, CEO, Western Carolina Chapter. “DHG’s support is invaluable and integral to furthering our mission, enabling us to help more individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia.”

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. More than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

“We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association as it continues its important work to develop a cure for Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer’s Association provides valuable support to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting critically needed research,” said Pat Shuler, President of the DHG Foundation. “I am proud to see our people fully living and embracing our DHG values and coming together as ONE DHG to make an impact through our partnership with Alzheimer’s Association.”

DHG team members collectively contributed more than $30,000 to the National Alzheimer’s Association Walk by organization teams across the firm's footprint. The firm participated in interactive fundraising activities during its "November Month of Giving" campaign and attended Alzheimer’s Lunch and Learn sessions in local offices to raise awareness about the disease and participation in the campaign.
