Bordoni Joins Firm as Risk Advisory Partner

Atlanta, GA, September 19, 2013 – Michael Bordoni has joined the Risk Advisory Services practice of Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP as a partner in the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia office. 

“Michael brings exceptional leadership capabilities to our team. We are thrilled to have him on board to lead our growing risk advisory and internal audit practice in the Atlanta market,” says David Evans, Regional Managing Partner for the firm’s Atlanta office.

With more than 23 years of experience, Michael combines expert qualifications in financial, accounting, auditing and process improvement matters. Most recently, Michael served as Chief Audit Officer for Emory University and Healthcare where he oversaw internal audit, compliance, and enterprise risk management and participated on various governance committees. Prior to joining Emory, Michael was a Principal at Ernst & Young, LLP in Atlanta where he was responsible for assurance and advisory services for private and public companies.

Michael has successfully transformed and led internal audit and consulting teams in Fortune 500 companies and private research universities to solve complex financial and operational issues. His areas of expertise include: financial accounting and audit issues; financial systems; governance; process improvement; compliance; controls rationalization and effective SOX/IA functions; research administration and federal audits; supply chain optimization; and continuous auditing.

Michael is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Management Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors. 
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting from State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
