Heather Cozart Named NCACPA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force Chair

Charlotte, N.C., November 30, 2017 – Dixon Hughes Goodman, a U.S. top 20 public accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Heather Cozart, Managing Partner of DHG’s Raleigh, NC office, has been named Chair of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Diversity and Inclusion Task Force.

Under Heather’s leadership, the newly formed task force will create a definition of diversity and a sustainable plan for inclusion within the NCACPA. Comprised of nine members from across the state of North Carolina, representing CPAs in both public accounting and industry, the task force will seek input from the entire NCACPA membership to help drive success and foster innovative solutions. They will complete their work at the end of April 2018 by presenting a proposal to the NCACPA board of directors.

“I am honored to serve on this task force and to play a part in enhancing diversity and inclusion across the NCACPA membership,” said Heather. “I look forward to working alongside my peers as we create a successful plan to be utilized for many years to come.”

Heather has more than 18 years of combined experience in public accounting and in the financial services industry. She serves clients which include both private and publicly traded entities, including financial institutions, specialty finance companies, broker-dealers, professional services firms, and technology companies. She is experienced in the completion of quarterly and annual SEC filings, mergers and acquisitions, stock registration statements, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal control documentation, employee benefit plans, SSAE 16 reporting, agreed-upon procedures, internal audit engagements and other special engagements.

Heather is very passionate about furthering diversity and inclusion at DHG and beyond. She is instrumental in the University of North Carolina’s Accounting Mentorship Program which mentors minority students interested in pursuing a career in accounting. Through her work with the task force she will continue to be an asset for DHG’s own Inclusion & Diversity and Women Forward Council.
