Adam Thomas to Serve as Office Managing Partner in Tampa

Will Lead DHG Financial Services Practice in Florida and Expand into Other Industries

Tampa, Fla., Oct. 12, 2017Adam Thomas, Partner in DHG Financial Services, is relocating from the firm’s Raleigh, N.C., office to serve as Office Managing Partner and lead the firm’s growth in the Tampa, Fla., market. Thomas will join Brian Smith, Partner in DHG Insurance, in growing the firm’s financial services and insurance practices throughout Florida.

DHG has had a presence in Florida since 1986 and employs approximately 50 people in the state, with offices in Jacksonville and Tampa. Thomas’ move to Tampa reflects the firm’s commitment to Florida’s financial services and insurance companies, as well as the firm’s ability to meet the diverse accounting and advisory needs of middle-market and global companies across a variety of industries in the area.

During his 16-year career, Thomas has served financial services and technology clients across the Southeast, including community and regional financial institutions, asset management companies, including funds and trust, and fintech and other technology related companies. Prior to joining DHG, Thomas worked for a Big Four firm for 10 years. In addition to external audit services, Thomas has experience with internal controls over financial reporting, various allowance for loan and lease losses models, business combinations and acquisitions, multiple element arrangement revenue recognition and SSAE 18 reporting.

Thomas earned Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. Thomas is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of the 2014 - 2015 Leadership Raleigh program through the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and, prior to relocating, served as the treasurer and a member of the board of directors for the Raleigh/Wake Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness. Thomas and his wife, Kathryn, are the proud parents of two daughters, Kathleen, 14, and Alice, 11.
