As a firm we celebrated many great accomplishments in 2015. One that I am incredibly proud of is the development of our people-focused brand - Life Beyond Numbers
. At first glance, you might think that we are only referring to life outside of DHG, but really, Life Beyond Numbers
encompasses everything we do in both our personal and professional lives. We believe that the work our people do is very important, but equally important is life outside of DHG. Life Beyond Numbers
is a reflection of our unique culture and our consistent focus on our people, careers and flexibility.
No one at DHG is just a number. We are all part of a team and we work as a team. Each individual brings value to the firm. We approach people as a priority in all that we say and all that we do- from employee benefits to how we schedule our work, people come first. Our office cultures are warm and friendly and one can quickly see that co-workers are more than people we spend our working hours with; they are our friends and some may even say extended family.
We openly state via our mission that building careers with our people is a top priority- this will always be true for DHG. We focus on developing the whole professional- helping our people develop skills that go well beyond the technical standards to also encompass skills such as communications, conflict management and negotiation tactics. We strive to give our professionals challenging assignments so that they can learn and grow at a rapid pace. Our robust technical program paired with other skills acquired through hands-on experience help our people develop valuable careers.
We work in an industry where, at times, there is not balance between work priorities and one’s personal life. However, even when we are working really hard, we can still be flexible and work in a way that allows us to complete work responsibilities while also juggling commitments in our personal lives. There are times when our people need the flexibility to handle something outside of work during business hours– whether it is an activity in the community, a family event or even a hobby. That also means that our professionals need to be flexible for DHG. When our clients have deadlines, we plan for those in advance and allow ourselves the flexibility to stay late and work hard as a team in order to meet our client’s goals. Flexibility, for us, does not mean that everyone is coming and going as they please, instead, it means that both DHG and our people are flexible for one another to achieve our mutual interests.

The priority we place on our people and their careers has been embedded in the DHG culture throughout our history. As such, Life Beyond Numbers is our way of articulating something that is deeply rooted in our culture.
We launched our Life Beyond Numbers brand during the last six months, starting with the rebranding of our DHG careers website (View Campus Site, View Experienced Hire Site). Many of our people, representing various geographies and practice areas, participated in video and photo shoots to help tell the Life Beyond Numbers story- focused on people, flexibility and careers. Check out our YouTube channel to view all of the videos. We will continue to capture the stories of our people in the coming year so stay tuned for more videos and other communications about our Life Beyond Numbers.
